Rasa
My 10-year-old math/science/engineering-oriented son is interested in learning about genetics. What are your favorite resources for logic stage? Many thanks in advance.
wapiti
You might first have him go through the genetics lessons in a high school bio textbook (e.g. Miller Levine) and then go to library books or skip a textbook intro and head right to the library. Saddlemomma
DD was in 6th last year and we did Fun With Gene (Call Me Gene is the secular version). This was a suggestion from another WTM boardie to me last year when I asked this very question. From the title, you may think it's an elementary program, but it's not. It's structured for 7th-8th graders and quite meaty. We did supplement with some YT/BrainPop Videos and read Stronger Than Steel together, which was fascinating. She absolutely loved this curriculum and got a thorough understanding of genetics and heredity from it. It was her favorite part of science, by far, last year.
Chrysalis Academy
There are some great resources on this site: http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/sci_edu/waldron/ HHMI/Biointeractive also has good stuff, some of which is good for middle graders. Some of their genetics stuff is better for high school, but they have nice evolution resources that are good for a middle schooler. https://www.hhmi.org/biointeractive/genetics
