That is really great!

Though...

“Even if the education in the school is inferior and you think that you can do better at home, it is not worth the exchange of knowledge for loss of social interaction that helps build the personality.

Yikes!

Nice positive article that could break some stereotypes, but that critic section repeating those stereotypes does leave me :banghead: .

Why is it that some people (namely those critics) can cite stereotypes from a few examples where homeschooling goes wrong, but totally miss the fact that public school can go equally as wrong for many students?  There are many in ps who detest the "socialization" they are getting.

With my own kids, the better education definitely trumped the "better" socialization.  The only one (of mine) who had difficulty adjusting to college was my ps (high school) lad and he had difficulties both academically and socially at first.  Neither of my homeschooled during high school guys had problems with either.

Small data points and not worth much except that they should break misconceptions that ALL hs kids have issues and NO ps kids do.

But again, it's good to read that more people are open to the opportunities and benefits of hs.  As time goes on, fewer and fewer (hopefully) believe the myths.

Kudos to Yael!!!
