mom2
So my DD she is going into 4th grade, we have took all the advice from here and we are doing Beast Academy, laungauge books, AAS, etc. We do everything at home, but on her MCA test she did really bad. I just feel like giving up and just don't know what else I can do to help her. She does very well and understands the stuff at home, but doesn't apply it to school on these tests. PLEASE any advice on what I can do would be great. We have also just added the Kumon for Math as well.
Arcadia
Do you get to look at her MCA test? If not, request a parent teacher meeting to have a look at her test scripts. There are mainly reasons to do badly on any test 1) ran out of time 2) carelessness due to boredom or just plain carelessness 3) don't care for tests and so didn't put in best effort (I was that kind of kid) 4) does not understand the test in which case test prep with past year MCA test questions would help. (I have a kid who needs test prep with past year papers to understand the lingo)
