Writing & Rhetoric Fable: Do I need a student book for each kid?

The exercises would be much easier if each student had his/her own book. Not only are there sentences and stories to write, but there are multiple choice questions to circle the answers, blanks to fill in, and parts of paragraphs to cross out when they are doing summary work.

I only had one kid at a time using it, but she did fine just writing answers in a notebook. For exercises that needed circled or crossed she either did that section orally with me or just wrote the right answer in her notebook.

My kids needed their own books. Writing is not easy for them and I think adding one more task of writing answers on a separate sheet (or worse, marking out whole sections of the paragraph) is an additional step to an already complex task.

I'm using the student book as a consumable for dd8 because it takes a bit less of my time for her to do the short questions independently and bring the work for me to check than it would for us to do them orally.  She would have trouble writing the answers to the questions on a separate sheet of paper.   For the writing assignments, she often prefers to type on the computer rather than write in the book, so that it's easier to edit her work.

You could manage with 1 student book or 1 per child, but it will be a little easier with 1 per child.
