umsami
Title says it all. Will be doing Writing & Rhetoric Fable with at least two of my kids. Does each child need his/her own student book or are the exercises and such something that can be done in a notebook?
vtamanda
I have been working from the teacher's manual only. So I would say no.
Ethel Mertz
The exercises would be much easier if each student had his/her own book. Not only are there sentences and stories to write, but there are multiple choice questions to circle the answers, blanks to fill in, and parts of paragraphs to cross out when they are doing summary work. SilverMoon
I only had one kid at a time using it, but she did fine just writing answers in a notebook. For exercises that needed circled or crossed she either did that section orally with me or just wrote the right answer in her notebook.

This is exactly what we did.
lexi
My child has the book but we do most things orally. If there is anything to write she does it on notebook paper. The way we use it my kids would be able to share the student book.
Targhee
My kids needed their own books. Writing is not easy for them and I think adding one more task of writing answers on a separate sheet (or worse, marking out whole sections of the paragraph) is an additional step to an already complex task.
mamiof5
We have been able to do it just using a notebook. We rarely ever write on our books

momto3innc
We wrote in the books and I think it was much easier. Not that it couldn't be done otherwise of course, we just preferred to write directly in the book. I would definitely buy 2.
rebbyribs
I'm using the student book as a consumable for dd8 because it takes a bit less of my time for her to do the short questions independently and bring the work for me to check than it would for us to do them orally. She would have trouble writing the answers to the questions on a separate sheet of paper. For the writing assignments, she often prefers to type on the computer rather than write in the book, so that it's easier to edit her work. You could manage with 1 student book or 1 per child, but it will be a little easier with 1 per child.
reign
If $$ isn't a big deal I would get each child their own copy. As it is we use separate plain note books or work verbally. It would be easier to each use their own though. My kids do enjoy working verbally through the questions.
