Kendall
What has been your experience using this with 8th grade? Is this tough for an 8th grader? Easily adapted down as needed? Did they like it? Thanks in advance, Kendall
5sons
My current (2015/2016) 8th grader started this tail end of 7th (we school year round). He has done it on his own and really likes it. I can tell he is enjoying it as he tells me neat little tidbits he's learning throughout the week. He also scores well on the quizzes/tests. Once a week he does a lab from MicroPhySci Kit (2nd edition). Some of those labs have been a bit of a challenge (in a good way). So, overall well liked and planning to use it again with my next ds in two years. Hope that helps somewhat, Kristen ETA: Have not needed to adjust anything so far. This has been one of his favorite science years. Last year he did Exploration Education advanced and of course enjoyed it as well.
Kendall
Thanks, Kristin. It helps to know that it has worked well for you. And I appreciate the lab idea as well. Do you think he will be able to finish it this year?
5sons
We discussed it and he feels confidant he can finish. We would like to move on to biology for 10th. That's our goal anyway ;) Hope yall enjoy! Kristen
