Guest Ellie72
The Well-Trained Mind (2004 edition) recommends the Smithsonian Microchem XM 5000 Chemistry set for 7th grade chemistry. Does anyone have experience with this or with other packaged chemistry sets? They are not cheap, so I'd like to have some more feedback before I purchase one. I'm also curious if the later edition of The Well-Trained Mind recommends anything different. Thanks so much! Pen
2009 ed lists the Chem C2000 set. I had had a Thames and Kosmos physics set which we were not happy with and so did not try the chemistry one, though I have seen some good reviews on another T&K chem set. Loesje22000
We own the C3000 set, it had almost everything we need in our context. I bought that one so I could use it for Highschool too. Chemistry kits are hard (read expensive) to get here, so that limited my choices :)

SilverMoon
After reading reviews for the T&K sets we decided to go with the Basic Chemistry Lab Equipment Kit and Introduction to Chemistry Kit from Home Science Tools.
foxbridgeacademy
After reading reviews for the T&K sets we decided to go with the Basic Chemistry Lab Equipment Kit and Introduction to Chemistry Kit from Home Science Tools. The Basic Chem Lab Equipment is the one I've got and I would suggest adding a few more test tubes and beakers to the set now to save on shipping later.
