GTiff
Hopefully this is the right place to post this question! My daughter will be Kindergarten this year. I finally decided on Abeka for everything except reading (We will be doing AAR 1) She has been reading sight words, cvc words, and can sound out some larger words and after looking at Abeka k5 I thought she'd be bored with it. She can write almost all the upper and lower case letters correctly. I was going to still use the Abeka handwriting but now I am not sure if that's the way to go. She was in PS for preschool last year and they used HWOT and she did well with it. I have also looked at A Reason For Spelling and really like the looks of that. Where would I start her? I am assuming Level k? Do you have any other suggestions for us? Also, a question for a friend. She has a 3 1/2 yr old little girl who is very very busy and LOVES all things art related. She has been tracing things for a long time and is very very good at it (I have never seen a child so young color in lines and with the detail as she does!) but, she has mastered that and is now bored with it. She doesn't like copy work. Any suggestions for curriculum for her and if so where to start? My friend will be homeschooling as well. She is going to be doing Sonlight preschool this year but with just books she feels she will be bored with just books very quickly. TIA! MomatHWTK
You may want to take a look at copywork. Many sets offer the alphabet on one page and then begin sentences, some illustrated. Here are some exampleshttp://www.currclick.com/browse.php?filters=0_21600_0_0_0_0_0_0&page=1&sort=4a
