historymatters
Does anyone know the difference between these two products from The Critical Thinking Skills Company? The Critical Thinking in United States History is made up of 4 books The US History Detective Bk. 1 seems to be new. Thanks, Rachel
sassenach
I'm not familiar with those books, so I popped over to look at samples. Critical Thinking in US History is very similar to Read Like a Historian, which is free. You might want to take a look. https://sheg.stanford.edu/us Looking at samples, CTUS seems geared toward critically evaluating the writings of historians to draw conclusions. I'm unclear about whether it uses any actual primary sources. USHD looks like a collection of articles and guided synthesis.
