TammyB
I need a good typing program for logic-aged kids. It would a plus if my ninth grader could use it as well. Thanks!
OneStepAtATime
Typing Pal or Touch-Type Read and Spell are usually on sale at Homeschool Buyer's Co-Op and both are good programs for older kids. Typing Pal (the on-line version) gives the student the choice of "environments" while they are typing and I believe that one fee gives you access for three students. With TTRS you pay for individual students but is a great re-enforcer for phonetic spelling and dictation.
nansk
For an older child, I would suggest typingweb.com or typingclub.com. Both are free, hosted online (nothing to install), and don't have cute graphics or sounds.
MountainViewHS
We love the Touch Type Read Spell program. It's no games or things like that, but seems to be working well for DS.

tmstranger
Typing Instructor Platinum has been working well here with those grades. Is Typing Instructor Platinum the same as Typing Instructor Web only one is a disk and the other is online? I tried out the web version and it's cute, so I was wondering if this is the same thing. Can you use Platinum for more than one kid? or more than one computer?
