Musicmom
I need to change my email address, but haven't been able to do so. :confused1: I go to the Email & Password page under My Settings, enter the new address, and again to confirm it, and enter my current password. It says that when I submit it, I'll be signed out and will receive an email to the new address with instructions to re-activate my account. But when I hit Save Changes, it just sends me back to the home page--no automatic sign out, no email to my new address, and no change to the email address listed in My Settings. I've tried it twice, and signed out and back in again, but nothing seems to happen. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a known problem? I did send a message about it to administration (via the Contact Us page), but haven't heard anything back.
Classical Katharine
Hello MusicMom, I have a friend in a similar boat. She is a forum member and cannot access her account. It must be a huge amount of work to keep this forum up and running for us all, so I understand if not all questions get answered right away. I hope someone might post a hint or tip, however. She has tried every past email address and password to no avail, and has not heard back from support as of yet. I second the call--if anyone out there has a hint, please let us know!
geodob
Has she tried clicking on the 'Forgot my password', in the sign in box? Where you type in your email address, and they then send your password to that address. She could try different email addresses, until one sends the password. Classical Katharine
Musicmom, My friend's situation is a bit different from yours. On further thought, for yours, have you tried doing all the steps you describe, but from a different browser? It is odd what things can sometimes be affected by that difference. If you are using FF, maybe try IE or perhaps Chrome? After a system restart? And come back and let us know if that helps :-) Geodob, she couldn't use her email address since she had abandoned an email address in favor of a new one, so couldn't receive email to the old one, but in the end, by using her username instead, she was able to get in to reactivate. So she is up and running again, and is a happy camper. Thanks for the idea!
Musicmom
Hi Katharine! I'm so glad your friend was able to get back in! That's a great idea to try from a different browser! Thanks! That could make a difference. I was on Chrome, which is all I have. I could try from FF or IE using one of my dc's laptops, but I ultimately decided not to try again. Since admin does not seem to be responding to issues, and I need to be on the forums (since I'm selling on the Classifieds), I decided to just leave things as they are for now and not risk any further problems! :tongue_smilie: I may try again in the future, but not sure. To anyone else who's having this same problem with not being able to change email addresses, please post here and let us know your experience! Maybe trying a different browser or restart will help! Thanks again, Katharine! :)
