craftymama
We still have about a month with this one. We've enjoyed FLL3 and FLL4, but what comes next? I know there are options, so could some of you chime in on what you liked or didn't like? Thanks.
ScoutTN
We are headed to Rod and Staff 5. Simple and thorough and not expensive.
craftymama
Has anyone switched to Hake/Saxon Grammar and Writing after FLL4? We've also done WWE1-3, but are not continuing with WWE4. I'm hoping we can go right into level 5. Anyone have experience?
Guest
Yes, we did just fine going that route. Some of Hake will be review. We chose to see it as reinforcement. We did not use the writing bit, though.
redsquirrel
I went with R&S and only used the grammar lessons. However, I sort of wish I had gone with Hake grammar. I went with R&S b/c I saw that it went to 10th grade and Hake stops at 8th grade. However, R&S 9 and 10 are not like the rest of the program. It would have been just as easy to use Hake (secular and cheaper) and then use something like Analytical Grammar in high school. I used WWS for composition, not R&S. I just skipped the composition lessons in R&S.
cintinative
there were similar threads not too long ago that you might want to check out: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/543921-grammar-after-fll4-that-can-be-done-mostly-independently/ http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/542863-what-to-do-after-fll4/
mamaraby
We'ere going to Hake. As much as I appreciate SWB's suggestions re: R&S, what we use has to be secular.
