Is she ready for Writing and Rhetoric Fable?

So my almost 8 year old second grader stumbled across her big sister's old Fable book. Apparently it inspired her to write her own fable. I wasn't planning on starting Fable with her until 4th grade, but now I'm thinking she might be ready in 3rd. Here's her story written completely on her own except I corrected her spelling and punctuation:

The Monster and The Lion

There once was a monster, and he lived in a deep dark wood. He was hunting and noticed a lion in the distance. The monster quickly ran over to the lion.

"What are you doing here you ugly beast?" the monster asked.

"Hunting for wild rabbits," the lion answered.

"Well, if you're smart enough to hunt for wild rabbits, tell me this. What's four plus four?" the monster said happily.

"It's eight, you dummy," the lion said proudly.

"Well, I'm eight times bigger than you and the bigger, the better." the monster said with an evil smile.

The lion ran into the wood going back to his mission of hunting rabbits. The monster also went home highly pleased with himself.

So should I start her in Fable next year (3rd) or put it off another year until 4th? Her writing stamina is pretty good, but she's never seemed super interested in writing stories until she brought this one to me yesterday.
