housemouse
something that ds can do over the summer (6-8 week) and discussions with me. We had covered it before when he was younger but without too much detail and this time round I would like to do a deeper study that would include Holocaust and Hitler and the terrible things that were done. I don't think I want it to be deep to the point of ds having nightmares over it but I want him to understand that part of history and since he is showing interest, I want to use that opportunity. Any resources or ideas on how to go about teaching this topic as many of the details tend to be gruesome would be much appreciated. Thank you so very much.

That impressed most, but we started with the above.
Clear Creek
Build Your Library has a nine-week unit study on WWII. I haven't used it, though.
laughing lioness
I think the Usbourne books on WWI and WWII are fairly thorough while still being sanitized enough for middlers to make it do-able.
