Staceyshoe
I'm having trouble comparing these programs, but they both seem very popular. I would like something without lots of frills, graphics, and games (which are a distraction for my son). If one of these program would allow ds to work at times on the desktop and at times on the laptop while saving his progress (maybe with an online login??), that would be ideal. I realize that might be asking too much though. If you use either of these programs, I'd love to hear what you like/dislike about them. Thanks! monalisa
My daughter has been using Typing Instructor, but has gotten frustrated to the point of tears recently and is just practicing on the BBC Dance Mat Typing page. For some reason, the timed tests stress her out and she feels like she is forced to "test" before she is ready. This could just be her issue, because there was a math practice program a few years ago that also made her really upset (she is now 12). I was going to look at Mavis Beacon actually. The version we have is just a CD, so there is no online option. That would be really handy to have that option, however!
