Guest2
My daughter js 16 and after her first session of vison therapy, her headache went away. I was prepared for her to feel awful, but she actually feels better. She is less dizzy, and pointing out wild flowers. Telling me she usually just sees a blurry mix of grass and flowers, but now she can see each individual flower. I guess this makes sense based on her eval...she was extremely low in convergence and divergence ranges and recoveries, and not suprisingly also low on visual memory, visual spactial relations, form constancy ect. She doesn't notice the difference as much with her home exercises. Should we be expecting headaches later? Is there a honeymoon period?
kbutton
We experienced more fatigue with VT than anything else. If I had to do VT myself? It would probably bring on daily migraines, lol! I hope you have continued progress without a lot of bothersome symptoms.
OneStepAtATime
Wow, that's great! Every kid is different. Hopefully, yours will be the exception, not the rule. So awesome, Silver Brook!
mamakelly
My dd was exhausted after her VT sessions. If we didn't get schoolwork done before VT, we just didn't finish. She was too wiped out. How wonderful that your dd is having such great results! After about 5 weeks, most of my dd's symptoms were gone.
Guest2
Second session didn't go as well, but she feels like it is making a tremendous difference. I wouldn't have known anything about VT without this board! Thanks. We decided to make appointments in the afternoon, so she can rest afterwards. Thank you all for being so encouraging! PeterPan
LOL, not to laugh too much, but yeah, that would be a more normal reaction to VT. :) She may have just been excited or something. VT is hard work, and she may find she develops extreme fatigue, headaches, etc. You're literally retraining the brain and making new pathways. The measure of it going well is not whether she develops those symptoms but whether she eventually comes to the other side as her convergence, etc. improves. Odds are that's going to take a number of months and odds are it's not going to be fun. Just be prepared for it. That's a good plan to do a light amount of school work in the morning and then do her VT. We used to do field trips and take adventures after our therapy sessions. If she has reading glasses, she can put them on afterward to relax her eyes for a while. You can always talk the issues through with the therapist to find tricks.

Tiramisu
My dd did not have headaches, but she became very grumpy. It was not fun. Thankfully, it resolved halfway through, after about six weeks.
