aggieamy
DD (11 yo almost) has just starting taking piano. She has played the viola for years so can read music already. I want to get her a few *fun* piano books for her birthday in a few weeks but I don't know exactly what that would be. Disney songs? Folk songs? Classic kid songs (Yankee Doodle)? It would be so cool if there were at least a few songs she was familiar with or that she could sing along with while she played. Any suggestions? Chris in VA
IDK, but just wanted to say dd plays viola and piano, also. Viola is on a different staff, so piano takes a little getting used to-- Best wishes on the combo. :)
AK_Mom4
Somedays, it feels like DD13 has the Frozen piano book on permanent repeat. She has a level 3 or 4 book. You need something simpler for beginners. Our music store has a ton of beginning piano books. It's probably worth a visit in person
jenn-
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_seeall_1?rh=k%3Aplaytime+piano%2Ci%3Astripbooks&keywords=playtime+piano&ie=UTF8&qid=1430530035 We had a lot of success with this series. If you think that she will pick up the basics of the piano pretty quickly, I'd probably skip right to their level 2 books.
