showelott
Today the College Board released the full score report for the March SAT. Many parents have trouble interpreting this report and getting the most value out of it. I've written a (longish) blog post on how to do it. In summary: 1. Print a hard copy of the report 2. Look at the scaled score and the percentile score 3. Look at the total number of correct, incorrect and omitted answers 4. Analyze the Score Detail section - both by question difficulty level and by topic area 5. Create your new strategy 5 steps (and 10 key questions to ask) to analyze the Full SAT Score Report (and how to get a better score)
VANURSEPRAC
Really dumb question....... That report is only for kids that took it? Not for people who are just trying to learn all they can about SAT while kid is still in middle school?
showelott
Really dumb question....... That report is only for kids that took it? Not for people who are just trying to learn all they can about SAT while kid is still in middle school? Not a dumb question! Sorry - I didn't make it clear - The College Board releases scores about 3 weeks after kids take the SAT. And then about a week later they release a full score report that breaks down those scores in more detail. So, yes, the reports are just released to the kids who took that test. If you are looking for info on the SAT, and you've got a middle schooler, I'd sit tight for the moment. The test is changing in 2016, So unless you need to take it next year (for the Duke TIP program, for example), I'd ignore it until you've got a 10th grader. By that time there will be a lot more material available for you to use.
Sebastian (a lady)
I'm also happy to help you look at your child's report and give you some suggestions if that would be helpful. Please review the board guidelines.
showelott
Whoops - okay - I didn't know that was against the rules - I'll remove that part.
