Question about LiPS readers

Recommended Posts

If there's no reading disorder, maybe just use what you already have?  (Bob Books, I See Sam--which you can download for free!, etc.)

If there is a reading disorder, maybe get through the rest of your sounds and go on into Barton?  I agree there's that overlap between LIPS and Barton 1.  I taught the two together, going through all the skills of LIPS and the steps of Barton 1 for the field of limited letters covered in say lesson 1 (roughly that first go round with LIPS).  Then the next week added the letters of Barton 1 lesson 2, but doing them in LIPS with the LIPS methodologies first, building up to doing the Barton tasks.  Rinse and repeat till you're through the whole shibang.  I agree when you do that it's possible to speed it up and get a good result.

See I'm just thinking that if your dc has a reading disorder, they're probably going to have more issues than what LIPS addresses and that you're going to want to go through the Barton steps.  But pay no attention if that doesn't apply.  :)  If you just want readers, you can download the I See Sam books for free.  Ottakee has posted the link in the past.  I think maybe they were free pdfs or free in one of the formats (iTunes?) but not free in the others or something.  I think that's right, free in iTunes, not free for kindle.
