Build Your Bundle - scheduled again for May

I have a friend who helped put together last year's Build Your Bundle package. I actually passed over it last year, because I'd already purchased most of my curriculum and didn't feel like I could justify anything that didn't actually fit into my plan. That said, I've wished I'd gotten all the Ellen McHenry materials that were included, because now we'll be hitting botany in a few weeks. I think I'd like the EMH curriculum better than what we've been using.

I don't know what publishers will be included, but she did say that they will be having one geared toward secular home schoolers as well as a Charlotte Mason one again. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that the sale will happen sometime in May. I know now is the season that folks are scoping out the sale seasons for different publishers (at least I do!) and hope this information helps someone out.

Hmm. I remember that there was a similar one soon after, so I don't want to link something and have it be the wrong bundle sale. From what I remember, people could choose something like 5 options. I just remember that there were several Ellen McHenry options that I really liked and so I am hoping those are offered again. I wish I could be more help.

Can someone PM the coupon? They never sent it. :(

I emailed them through their website about the coupon, and they responded immediately.

I plan to get the $59 Build Your Own bundle with:

Ellen McHenry Carbon Chem and the Brain

Write From History Level 2, Early Modern and Modern

The Fun Spanish

Around the World Geography Copywork

Quark Chronicles Botany

Classical Astronomy Field Guide

Fine Art Page 1 and 2

I never received an email and now the website says it's too late. I emailed them again now.

All I think I want is the copywork bundle. I like a lot of what they have but I'd want hard copies of those particular items.

Slache, I just realized I had not received my email with the code either. I checked my Junk folder, and sure enough, it was there. Have you tried that yet by chance?

The coupon code appeared on the screen after you signed up for it. I agree with someone else as well that it was probably a one time use code based on how large the number was. I would try emailing them about it.

I didn't realize that. My phone can be slow to load so I probably closed the screen thinking it would come in my email. Thanks.

Is the coupon still there? I don't see it. I've also been debating about what to fill up the rest of the $59 Build Your Bundle with. I already have: Write from History L2 Early Modern, Draw Around the World USA, all three of the Ellen McHenry sciences, which is what I really wanted. Especially if you are a secular homeschooler, what would you recommend to fill out the order?

I love the look of the geography copywork.

I just bought a bundle for the first time ever.  I already decided against the McHenry chemistry books for my rising 7th grader based on a gut inclination that it just wasn't going to be meaty enough for him (after reading many, many reviews). Then my rising 5th grader changed gears and wants chemistry for fall too.... Then DD/5th picked some books at a curricula sale that are on the Guesthollow schedule, which also schedules McHenry. Then I could get both McHenry chem books, The Brain, and two more items for less than the regular cost of one McHenry chem book at BYOB. Okay. Fine. I can live with that deal. :p

Since Write From History wasn't in the BYO options I had to hunt hard for two other items we'd actually use. Or didn't duplicate something else already on my shelf.  :001_huh:  In the end I went with a couple catechism books. I'm thinking of them as freebies, so if we don't use them it's not a big deal.

The Write From History Books are in the Build Your Own Premium options (the first two drop-downs only.)

Wish the secular bundle had more options. I don't need math. When I tried the "build your own bundle" option, many of the secular options were not available.

All of the products in the sale are available in the "Premium Build Your Own" Bundle. The more expensive items are in the first two drop-downs.

independenteasel - Ah well. Live and learn. :001_smile: There isn't enough there that I'd actually use (or don't already have an alternative) for me to make another set of 5; I have been homeschooling for a long time. Thanks for posting the information for other posters!

I filled it out with The Fun Spanish, Simply Cursive, Quark Chronicles Botany, Fine Art Notebooking pages, and Famous Composers notebooking pages.  Hopefully some of those work out well for us, although for the price I'm happy with the Write from History and Ellen McHenry.

I feel silly, but is this different than what you normally get from Ellen McHenry? Do you normally download her stuff? Is there a benefit to purchasing via her site instead?

Normally she sends a CD with the files on it. The file contains the student book plus notes for the teacher plus activities/games to print. I don't think she has the download option on her site, just the CD or print (I think she still offers print, not sure).

She has download options on her site as well. If you want a PDF this is a cheaper way to do it but if you would prefer a print version her site would work better. Also book depository carry some of her stuff.

Thank you. I don't know which I'd prefer as this is my first Ellen McHenry purchase! I do think I'd prefer a print version but for this price, printing it out isn't bad!

I couldn't resist the new coupon code!  There were 7 things I really wanted, but I narrowed it down to 5.  I tried to get what we'd actually use in the next year.  The Ellen McHenry and Quark Chronicles look really good, but we are set for science for the next year.  I ended up with:

Handwriting Lessons Through Lit. (all ages)

Teaching Science and Having Fun

Field Guide to Astronomy

SCM's Your Business Math--I've been wanting this for awhile now!

Help! I Have a Reluctant Writer

It's driving me nuts that you can't combine the build-your-own with the pre-built for the buy-2-get-1.  Or that there isn't an option for BYO that includes the mid-priced items but not the highest-price premium options.  (I don't need any of the premium items but there is one mid-priced item I really want).  They would get me to buy a $25 and a $19 plus a $12 one free if you could combine that way...as it is, I will probably settle for 2 $19s and a cheaper one free, and just go without a few things or buy directly from the publishers.

My oldest used SCM's Your Business Math this year.  He chose the bookstore version.  It was a good break from Singapore Math and he carried what he learned from it over to his plans for a rabbit business.  I hope you enjoy. :)

I decided to go with:

World Geography Copywork

Westminster Catechism Copywork

Field Guide to Astronomy

Dan's Doodles

Celebrating Manhood

Did anyone else get the email that the premium bundle is now 50% off. I paid full price and feel a bit misled. I emailed them to see if they would credit me the difference back to my PayPal account. We will see.
