I'm writing. I need to clean, but the boys have my cleaning stuff and they are working on their room and bathroom right now. Don't think I'll interrupt that.

Fitbit has this new thing where they encourage you to get 25O steps each hour. That's not enough to even get my low step goal but I guess the idea is that you aren't totally sedentary for hours and then do a big walk. So I am trying this. Not instead of my step goal but as part of it.

They are completely renovating dh's office floor with an "open concept" layout (shudder) and no one is happy about it. Dh will still have an office and a window, but may have a glass door. He has had to empty out his current office completely and will be shuffled here and there for the next 4-6 months.

He would definitely prefer a cave.

Ever read "Quiet"?  I forget the author.  But she says introverts need their caves and corporations would be better off providing them.

Serious post.

Could you all remember DD in your prayers? The whole youth group thing is really weighing on her. She loves working with her Cubbies; it's the highlight of her week. But Journey and youth group have her so disenchanted that she is considering quitting it all. Jean had it right; the group is not for discussion but indoctrination. I found out that in an earlier series, youth group dad/leader played a video series of a debate between a YE proponent and an OE proponent. But he only played the YE half. Another time they we watching what was in DDs mind a great series on defending the faith, but youth group dad abruptly ended it when he found out the author was OE, even though creation was NOT a topic discussed. She's an unhappy monkey and I am so very upset that her view of the Church is being so damaged.

Poor dh's bike broke down on the way home from work last week, and he had to walk it 6 miles home.

Zero step credit, because his arms were stationary as he pushed it along.   :cursing:

Good grief! I take grandma and grandpa to the farmer's market and come back to a whole ketchup bottle to get through! :D

We got some tomatoes and strawberries, which according to the farmer selling them, were grown in genuine dirt on the ground.

BLT's and strawberries for lunch!

I'm in the process of making strawberry-pretzel salad for tomorrow's graduation party. Dd18 needs to help get her display stuff together and iron her graduation gown thing.

(((JoJo))) I hate that.

What is strawberry pretzel salad?

It's really a dessert. I don't know why anyone would call it a salad, but there it is. I could eat this salad all day.

The bottom layer: about a half bag of pretzels, chopped up to about 3C, mixed with 3/4C butter, melted, and 3 T sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 400* for 8-10 minutes. Cool.

2nd layer: 8oz cream cheese mixed with 1C sugar. Fold in 8oz Cool Whip. Spread on cooled pretzel layer.

Top layer: 2 pkg strawberry jello disolved into 2C boiling water. Mix in 20oz frozen strawberries. Wait 5-10 minutes until it starts to set, then spread over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until serving time.

No, but you did make laugh so hard I had to cross my legs, so there is that. 🤣

And, in that spirit I offer you:

Do your books hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie em in a knot, can you tie em in a bow
Can you throw em over your shoulder
Like a continental soldier?
Do your books hang low?

Are your books real flat?
Are they flatter than a mat?
Could they hide behind the side of an anorexic gnat?
Would it take an earthquake
To make those pancakes shake?
Are your books real flat?

Do your books sprout hair?
What's it doing way up there?
That's not a place I'd care
To get it off with Nair.
Don't it know a female chest
Just aint the place to rest?
Do your books sprout hair?

I've been savin that for a very special BOOYAH!

Did you make this up? It would go quite well with the Bathroom Prayer I created. Anyway, if the words are yours, they need to be put into the ITT archives.
