Chrysalis Academy
Lively Art of Writing with the student workbook, plus plenty of opportunities to practice essay writing on topics across the curriculum? Or, if you want more guidance for topics, plus models, I'd pick Writing WIth a Thesis and work through it. You cover all the major types of essays with nice examples of each. http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Thesis-Sarah-E-Skwire/dp/142829001X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425652430&sr=8-1&keywords=writing+with+a+thesis We're doing the first in 7th and plan the 2nd for 8th. SilverMoon
I'm leaning toward Lost Tools of Writing for my seventh grader. His biggest issue is figuring out what to say. Invention. There's always the evaluation of numerous writing curricula thread.

Thank you! We're moving into LAoW right now with my ds, and I've been casting about for what to follow it with. This looks really good!

This looks great. Thanks so much for linking it, Rose! Since the original discussion was on the high school board two years ago, I would never have seen it otherwise.
Chrysalis Academy
It pops back up every once in awhile, but I should remember to link it whenever I mention it. I guess I just assume everybody knows about it! We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Quark for formatting it so nicely and making it available to us.
