City Mouse
Does anyone know if it is normal for IQ scores to be dramatically different using different instruments? My DS was given the Kaufman Brief Intelligence test 4 yrs ago. His results were in the above average range His school just had him tested and he was given the WISC-IV. He composite score was extremely average As far as school goes, it doesn't matter. I did not think he would qualify, but the school asked for the updated testing. I am just wondering which test is a more accurate score as that could change some of my expectations. His scores on the two different achievement tests are fairly similar. texasmama
The WISC is the better, more detailed test. ETA: One of my kids had the KBIT and then a few years later the WISC. There was a 20 point discrepancy between the two, with the KBIT being higher. More recent testing has borne out the WISC scores. I don't know if this is typical, but the WISC is a better test overall, IMO.
