First day of school

There are lots of pics of cute kids and backpacks on facebook today as lots of drs friends are starting school.

I didn't think to take any first day of school pics but we did have a good day.

Ds wrote his maths answers in a separate notebook for the first time and layed it out fairly well.

Writing with ease looks like it might work for us.

Dds sounding out is faster than at the end of last year.

The kids found a bearded dragon in the yard and released it into the bush.

I love homeschooling.

any other Aussies start today? How did it work for you?

Glad you had a good and productive first day back.  I'm not homeschooling any more :(.  Youngest is in uni, but we loved our time, and the first day back each year was always kind of exciting for us all.  I'd take first day pictures in front of the whiteboard that said Welcome to Year 3, 5, and 6 (or whatever)...even sometimes on the second day if we missed the first, and just call it 'new school year' pics!  It's kind of fun to look back on.

Good luck for the rest of the school year! :)

Well I took 143 photos of my kids first day back to school LOL. We went to an Adventure Park with waterslides and mini golf.

For some reason I didnt get any pics in my newsfeed of friends kids going back to school this year...maybe the kids are getting older and not wanting pics or something IDK.

Field trip day tomorrow again

Homeschooling is awesome LOL

Tassie schools don't start until next week, but we've had our "everyone's gone up a grade" celebration and are gradually easing into our program. I'm really looking forward to February because hopefully the horrible weather will have changed (16 and rainy today! in January!) and we can sally forth without everywhere being full of school kids.
