MomtoCandJ
Well according to the 365/52 schedule it's fridge and freezer week. I'm still working on cabinets as last week was rather chaotic and this week isn't much better since it's Catholic schools week so lots of stuff going at dd1's school. We will see what gets done :)
DawnM
I admit I haven't even looked at the 365/52 schedule yet. I really need to be on my own schedule as I have a hierarchy of what needs to be done first, second, etc.... Today is attic day. Most needs to be tossed in one particular area of the attic. My goal for today is to fill both trash cans (tomorrow is trash day). Heading up in a bit.
sunflowerlady
Last week-decluttered some CDs and books. This weeks goals include-my nightstand (this will be a big job. I tend to toss things in there), and my bedroom closet.
Soror
Today I'm trying to finish the kitchen/pantry which takes care of most of the house, save for some little bits here and there. Right now it is in the, "it looks worse before it looks better stage". I gave myself 2 weeks off to get the house cleaned and decluttered again and today is my last day so I need to get back to it. The rest of the week will be devoted to selling some stuff I've cleared off, a good chunk went to Goodwill (3 van loads) but I have some that is worth at least trying to sell. DawnM
UGH. I barely dented the attic and the trash cans are already full. Oh well, trash day is tomorrow and we can refill them after that.
Soror
My kitchen looks fabulous, I don't think it has looked this good ever, I had been putting it off as I knew it would be a lot of work and I wasn't sure how to make it work like I wanted but it came together so well. Everything is more logically organized and I have plenty of free space in my cabinets and drawers, which is beautiful! I worked all day on it, I'm just now sitting down, I even ate lunch while working. I didn't get the one cabinet about the frig but it just has a few items, which I think I'm selling and I'm not ready to deal with them yet so it is just as well. I could have been better with under the sink and 1- junk drawer but they are pretty good. I rearranged several drawers and cabinets and am thrilled with the new layout. Our old system just wasn't really working well anymore and I had some things I hardly use, like bbq utensils taking up prime drawer space while my kitchen towels and mits were stuffed in the drawer. I also made things more accessible to the girls as they are cooking more and more I needed to make it more kid friendly. I got some done in the laundry/pantry room but finishing it up will likely wait for the morning, I'm pooped!
sunflowerlady
I tackled my nightstand today. Wow, how do I manage to gather so much junk and clutter? I threw out a paper I had printed several years ago. Just my nightstand provided half a trash bag full of well, trash. Then I found homes for the items that I chose to keep. Also, I spent about half an hour decluttering the closet. That will be ongoing throughout this week.
heartosunshine
I'm stuck on my kitchen declutter and I need help! Please, just tell me what to do. My dear, sweet MIL always gives me kitchen gadgets as gifts. Examples include: avocado slicer (I use a knife), onion chopper (again, knife), cinnamon nut roaster, chocolate fountain (this one was returned, thank you SIL!), and I can't remember what else. I smile, accept them and even use them at least once. I really don't want to hurt her feelings because she's so sweet and thoughtful. The problem is that I don't want 50 million gadgets! They're really adding up & cluttering my kitchen cabinets & drawers. So just get rid of them, right? Well, she comes over frequently for dinner & either wants me to use them or she wants to use them. The last time she was here, I was chopping onions with a knife and she asked about the chopper. I said that I prefer to use a knife because I'm channeling Julia Child. She looked upset. {Sigh} Do I continue to store this stuff or get rid of it & risk hurting her feelings?
MomtoCandJ
Hmmm tell her it broke??? I honestly have no idea, many people think my kitchen supplies are sparse but I have what I need.
MomtoCandJ
Toys reproduce like mice!!!! I've cleaned the girls' room again and have taken another trash bag of toys out. Dh and I haven't bought them any since Christmas for dd1 and her birthday for dd2. No one else has gotten them toys either. Only thing I can think of is either dd1 brings them home from school (possible but some of these wouldn't fit in her bag) or they reproduce.
