O Squinkies, why hidest thou thine faces from mine eyes?

My prayers for thee leadeth me

To the ends of the earth.

But yea, my hope faileth at Walmart,

And Target,

And Brilliant Sky Toys

And Barnes & Noble (though I was going there anyway)

And Toys R Us

And Walgreens,

For surely mine eyes searched for thee

Even while waiting for the antibiotic.

My journey continues to the uttermost parts

For shalt the hopes of dd8 also fail?

For a "Squinkie Multipack" is the only desire of her heart.

She yearneth not for a pony

Nor a motorized Barbie Jeep,

Nor an X-Box,

Nor an iPhone,

Nor any other pricey gift which cannot be obtained.

Show me thy path,

And I shall walk in it.

Make haste, and get thee to Amazon

For surely they shall have what thou seekest,

mayhap with free shipping if thou art speedy.

Lo, the Amazon hath asked,

Doth thou desirest Series Seven

On the third day hence?

And I answered in kind,

Yea and amen.

Hope stirs within,

And we sleep in peace,

For the Hive knoweth no bounds.

Yea, verily, I had heard naught about Squinkies,

Nor had my lips uttered their name,

When, lo, my eyes beheld this thread,

And therefore, my day was made.

My cup runneth over with thanksgiving

And joy that The Hive aboundeth

With hilarious and esteemed personages

Of whom I am not worthy.

Rejoice, boardies, for the Squinkies have been found, and ordered,

And all is right with the world.

Yet in the midst of great rejoicing entered the Dread

Hath the soothsayer consulted the charts?

Would the elements be stirred by the great sky beast?

Would the Amazon be thwarted in its quest to bring forth the Squinkies?

All fell still waiting for a sign

And then with a joyous broadcast the servant of the weather shouted "fear not"

"For the rains shall not freeze, blocking the path of the Amazon"

Peace welled up, Dread was cast out

And there was again much rejoicing

Verily, I, too, heard naught of these Squinkies.

Know I, from the days of yor:

The Zoobles, The Barbie, The Pet Shop,

The LOTR Action Figures,

The Loom of Rainbow,

The Harry of Potter.

Panic swells in my bosom,

I, the mother of a "tween" girl.

Yea, a panic even now comes upon me.

Mightn't my proginy desire these

Rare and hitherto unknown treasures?

To google, I go, with a heavy heart,

With dread anew,

Friends, think kindly of me...

Hearest thou about yon Shopkins?

Behold, Season 2 has come, season 1 shall soon pass away.

They are plenteous at fairest Target.

Nay, overpriced at esteemed Amazon.

Yet, verily, I too am a mother of a "tween" girl,

Even a "tween to be."

Fear not, O mother most brave.

'Tis yet still time for such rare treasures

To make an appearance

At thine humble abode,

A mere five days hence.

And they marveled at the wonder that was the Amazon

For the small chestnut box had arrived unharmed

It was not drenched, nor was it roasted

Even the girl with locks of gold declared it right

And so the news spread:

The Amazon is mighty and sure footed

And the Hive fears no challenge

O! the joy

O happy day

O happy happy day!

For the arrival of thy Squinkies

Maketh our hearts sing and jubilate!

And, if thou cans't bear it,

More good tidings do I bring Hiveward:

Mine daughter, mine own "tween"

Last night thus spake,

"Mom, I desireth not Squinkies.

I desireth Lego." (checketh)

"I desireth books." (checketh)

"I desireth a living mouse." (nay, never, sorry)

And so, the sweet bliss of this season

Cometh upon our abode this day.

Content we are, even in our Squinkie-less-ness.
