BarbecueMom
I think DS6 is still bouncing up and down cheering. Congrats Logan!!!
Annie G
That boy cooks WAY better than I do.
Dmmetler
My DD is bouncing around the house. We had enough other things to do that we couldn't make it to the watch party, but I think she's going to knock that boy off his feet the next time she sees him. It truly couldn't have been a nicer kid.

Mommy22alyns
That boy cooks WAY better than I do. I had never even heard of the method he used to cook his fish. And I've watched every episode of Top Chef! We all cheered when he won.
Farrar
My kids were super excited that he won. They had been pulling for him. I have to admit that I only half watched the season, but they were beyond into it, especially since he was homeschooled. Hooray for Logan! We were just happy because he was from TN!
Barbara H
That was fun! Congrats to Logan and the rest of the contestants. Those kids are really amazing!
Chris in VA
That was such a wonderful show--and the kids were all respectful and good-hearted. I was pulling for Logan!!
Southern Ivy
I was rooting for Logan, but I still felt so bad for Samuel. He really thought he had it in the bag. He handled it like a champ, though. I know that the kids get a week of training before each episode, but I am still so in awe of their skill! I do a lot of cooking and do complicated things if I have time, but these kids put me to shame with what they know. I really do think, many times, it's an talent just like musicians or artists are gifted.
Dmmetler
Yes, Logan is homeschooled. He's been involved in various things with my DD over the past few years. He's a great kid. He's loved cooking for years and has done several competitions, including ones that took him to NYC (at age 9) and The White a house (at age 10). He's also a Boy Scout. What's even more amazing is that his mom is seriously allergic to seafood-so he never gets to cook it at home. He's been "adopted" by the Memphis food community, so he's had a chance to learn from the best, and, of course, homeschooling gives him a lot of time to explore. It truly couldn't have been a nicer kid. We got to meet Coco, too, and she's also a wonderful girl (she came out for the premiere party). Farrar
Oh, that's cool to know! I saw someone post that some people on this forum knew his family and that maybe his mom was an occasional poster here, but I wasn't sure.
Dmmetler
His mom is/used to be a member here and posts occasionally, but not very often.

And how cool that he won with fish, which he can't cook at home. DS6's cooking obsession is actually one of the things that got me to finally get tested for Celiac (still waiting for results). I need to know if we can have flour in the house, or do I need to find somewhere else for him to bake. I have to ask, does he actually wear bow ties or was that just a show costuming thing? We all loved the ties!
Dmmetler
It's a Doctor Who thing-although once he wore one for the original audition, he was encouraged to keep it up. His godmother made all the ties he wore on the show. Apparently Abby's dad tied them for him :). He was better at it than Logan's mom.
