Lilaclady
My dd is doing algebra 2 using AOPS intro to algebra with just the book and occasionally alcumus. I am finding it harder to help her when she is stuck. Most of the resources that I have been able to find explain the concept on a simpler scale than she needs. She understands the explanation but when she gets to some of the exercises, we get stuck. I have used khan academy, teaching company algebra 2 but they are of no help. This week, she was stuck on the combinatorial quadratics. I tried googling but only came up with college classes. Are there any resources that I can use that will tackle the more tougher questions that AOPS gives? Thanks
regentrude
Do you have the solution manual?
Lilaclady
Yes we do but only wants to use it as a last resort. I am looking for something that I can use maybe on the same level but explains it differently. I don't know if it is out there. eIMACS would have been good but it is out of our budget. Woodland Mist Academy
Have you tried Foerster? My dd has become extremely resistant to help with AoPS. (We are only on Algebra 1 chapter 7, so not Algebra 2, but I thought I'd mention it anyway...) I ordered Foerster and was pleasantly surprised. At first glance, it appears there are some AoPS like problems that are worked through in a step-by-step fashion. I think this could possibly be the help my dd needs (and will actually accept... ;) ) (I literally just received the book this morning, so take this recommendation with the proper dosage of salt. ;) )
Lilaclady
Thank I will look at foerster. My library does not have a copy but I will ask around. Thanks again
