BlsdMama
Sooooo, I'm not a gift person. Gifts have never meant a lot to me and I've not understood why they are so important to some people. Finally, thanks to the Five Love Languages book, I got a bit of a clue. I'm assuming gifts is my Mil's primary language. She SPEAKS gifts, LOVES to give gifts, pours oodles of time and thought into gifts. I am ashamed to admit I haven't always known or appreciated this. :( So every year my sister in law asks for a list and is given a list of very practical gifts. We all pitch in and get something. This year is a can opener and a heated blanket. And that's great, but I know something personal would mean a lot to her. She is a truly fantastic grandma. Suggestions? Our budget isn't huge but I'd really like to find something sweet.
momto10blessings
A calendar from shutterfly with all the kids pictures, birthdays, etc. bonus if you include all grandchildren. Hint: the past few years shutterfly has offered a free calendar on Black Friday. Just pay shipping.
PuddleJumper1
What about one of those picture frames with the mats that have multiple openings filled with pictures of your children? Grandparents on both sides here love getting candid shots of the grandkids.
plansrme
There is an entire thread on gifts for parents. Maybe something in there will appeal. I will add that one year, I took the kids to a paint-your-own pottery place to paint dessert plates for my grandmother. We painted dessert or salad plates (or saucers, as she would have called them) because that is mostly what she ate off of, rather than dinner plates.
