JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I recently received this and thought I would pass it along... The Arctic Research Consortium of the US selects a few students (current 11th graders) to participate over the summer in an Arctic research and education program. The best part--they cover all the costs-"All travel, transportation, accommodations, and meals will be provided to the participants. Students must provide regular clothing, including a sturdy pair of hiking boots/shoes and rain gear. Extreme cold weather outerwear is supplied by the program during travel to Summit Station. Participants must have a current passport." The student must be a US citizen or permanent resident. A reference (pref. from a science teacher), transcript, and a few 250 word max essays are involved. Applications began Nov 15 and continue through Jan 9, 2015. I hope there is a homeschooler out there who is a great fit for this program-it sounds amazing. Best of luck to any prospective WTMBoard applicants!! Joint Science Education Program

JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
Please forgive the bump--I have no connection to this group but I think it is a fantastic opportunity for the right person and want everyone to see it during the short application season.
