We want something that is kits or projects more than reading. I'm not so creative, so even just a good book of ideas for Science related crafts and projects would be helpful. If for you, then I agree with the suggestion for BFSU. It has activities outlined to do with each topic, as well as a list of picture books you can get from the library on each topic. Often the library books listed have further activity suggestions. Less structured but a lot of fun is the book Science in Seconds for Kids by Jean Potter. The same author has a couple other science books full of ideas that are super easy to implement. The reading level in the books isn't high, so your son could transition into reading them and carrying out the demonstrations himself when he is ready. hellojwolford Posted October 31, 2014 Share Posted October 31, 2014 My six year old has been reading Super Science Concoctions: 50 Mysterious Mixtures for Fabulous Fun (Williamson Kids Can! Series). It has a lot of fun mixtures that you can easily do with stuff hanging around in the kitchen, it presents the experiments as magic tricks that you can do for your friends, and it encourages the child to think about what's behind the magic ... it's science, of course! They have a huge selection, and if you are working with him don't worry too much about the "grade" designations.
