yvonne
There's a Solutions Guide for the Dolciani text on ebay for $40 right now. A total bargain, if you're looking for one! They're very hard to come by. (disclaimer: It's not mine & I don't know the seller.) yvonne
Farrar
Oh! Oh! But... 1996? How's that going to work with my '85 edition? I'm tempted to get it anyway though...
yvonne
Hm. Can't help you there. I have an '85 student text and a "1988 impression" of the '85 solutions guide & it's matched perfectly. It has the same cover as the '96 one posted, but who knows. Was the pre-algebra text ever revised? New printings, yes, but change to the actual content? Farrar
It's still there... does the solution key have more than the answers? Like, does it have step by steps for them or is it just a thin list of the answers?
The Governess
Wow, I had no idea I was so lucky! I bought the 1985 version of this on Amazon a couple months ago for $15. I had no idea it was such a rarity. I feel like I just won something! :D

yvonne
It gives the steps to getting the answers. Pre-Algebra is pretty straightforward, but it's nice to have the answers worked out for you. Makes it much faster to check answers. I like the fact that it also has worked out answers to all the problems (even & odd) in the text... the Chapter Tests, each chapter's big "Extra Practice" pages in the back of the book, etc. I didn't use as many problems with my boys, but I am having my daughter do all the Chapter Review, Cumulative Review, and Extra Practice problems, spread out over several days, of course. It's doing wonders for her accuracy & automaticity and for her confidence in her own ability to do math.
