Mynyel
This is my nephew. His mom has been asking if I know what it is. I told her I would ask you all. She wasn't satisfied with what the doctor said. :)
gingersmom
Really bad eczema? Have they been to a specialist and for alllergy testing?
greenvneck
That looks like a fungus. My son had that on top of eczema once and we didn't realize it until it looked like that picture. It probably needs topical steroids and maybe antibiotics. Poor baby!
Harriet Vane
Did they see a family doctor or a dermatologist? Because this one is definitely worthy of a dermatologist.
mom2jjka
Impetigo?
Guest submarines
Eczema? Maybe eczema + something fungal? Is she not satisfied because it is not getting better with suggested treatment or because she doesn't agree with the diagnosis? If she is not satisfied, she needs a second opinion pronto. This looks so uncomfortable.
texasmama
That is disturbing. I vote for more than eczema. I would eliminate dairy to see if it helps. Poor guy. I would also see a specialist to get a good diagnosis.
Jean in Newcastle
looks like the kind of eczema my kids had with food allergies.
lexi
looks like the kind of eczema my kids had with food allergies. My dd had eczema like this with her food allergies. She developed multiple fungal infections and a staph infection in addition to her eczema. It took months to get the infections under control. If she's not happy with dx then she should get another opinion. More than one dr misdiagnosed my dd initially.
HSmomof2
Psoriasis? It's hard to tell from the picture......
Catherine
Impetigo is my best guess. I'd need to know more about whether it hurt, how long he had it, other symptoms, etc.
