happypamama
I think my Kindergartener would like to be a professional bagger. Every time we go to the store, he begs to bag the groceries. If there's an actual bagger there already, he charms them into letting him bag instead. He has these big blue eyes and long dark lashes and a very winning smile, and people are completely putty in his hands. So, y'know, if his career as a television personality doesn't work out, he's got a fallback.
Dmmetler
When my DD was in preschool, they had a "when I grow up" day. DD wore a dinosaur t-shirt, jeans, boots, her safari hat, and carried her stuffed dragon. Her goal was to find dragons, tame them, and ride them. Actually, I guess she hasn't diverged that far, since now her goal is to discover new reptile species (and I'm sure she'd LOVE to find a flying reptile who she can ride...) My favorite was the little boy who wanted to grow up to be a tractor. Not to drive a tractor, although he was fascinated with big machinery of all types and would stand on the playground watching the groundskeeper mow the sports fields, but the actual gasoline burning machine, so he showed up for school dressed in a big cardboard box with headlights and pulling a cardboard harrow :). I think she stopped breeding or switched to a different breed after the litter my cat came from. She'd had a glorious stud cat, and was retiring. I've seen that with breeders. They breed around one stud and then stop breeding when the stud does. The litter was so clean that the kittens loved to play in it. When I picked up my kitten she had just been doing that and she was covered in clean litter. Breeder was embarrassed. I thought it was charming. SproutMamaK
Last winter when I was expecting my baby girl, the boys wanted to "see" her, so I took them with me to an appointment where they could hear her heartbeat and see a short ultrasound. The following conversation took place with the OB: 9 year old son: "That heartbeat sounds much faster than an average human's! I think that's probably because the baby's heart is much smaller, but it's still getting blood from the mother that it needs to push through its body quickly." OB: "That is a very good thought, young man! And do you want to be a doctor when you grow up?"9 y/o: "No. I want to sell hot dogs." That's right, honey. Dream big.
