morningcoffee
I recently bought these for dd13. The history one has a copyright date of 1999 and the science one is from 2000. She reads a page or two from each of them and takes notes (not outlining). I don't know why but I was expecting them to be similar level as far as their readability, level of content etc but the science one seems more difficult. Do you agree? Mandylubug
hmmm I will have to check the copyright date on mine but I have found them to seem equivalent. At least, I haven't noticed a measurable difference.
Mandylubug
ok, my history kingfisher is dated 2004, 3rd edition. Science dated 2011, 3rd edition.
morningcoffee
ok, my history kingfisher is dated 2004, 3rd edition. Science dated 2011, 3rd edition. Thanks for checking. My editions are quite old and I don't know how they might have changed. Also, I guess dd and I are both more history orientated so the science might just seem more difficult to us :)
Sunnybuddy
How different is the older (1999) Kingfisher History Encyclopedia from the newer version?
morningcoffee
How different is the older (1999) Kingfisher History Encyclopedia from the newer version? I'm not sure. We've had our 1999 copy for a few months now and I thought I had compared the online previews before purchasing (via Amazon etc) but now I can't find an online preview of the 2012 edition. Anyone else know?
happypamama
I just went and checked ours. History -- 2004, purple book Science -- 2011, blue and gold book They seem pretty similar to me, and DD, almost 13, likes both just fine.
