SilverMoon
Student text and solutions manual. Any edition is fine, really. Ours was an older dirt cheap edition. Just make sure the picture on the covers matches.
5LittleMonkeys
Okay....now I'm confused. I just found Lial's Pre-Algebra as well. Can BCM be used as Pre-Algebra (that was my understanding), or should I be looking at the Pre-Algebra?
SilverMoon
Yes, BCM can be a prealg book. They will both prepare for alg 1, though struggling students would benefit from doing both. BCM covers all the basic arithmetic you need for further math. Prealg covers all that too, but throws negatives, exponents, and such in from the beginning. It's more of an honors prealg. Which one to use would depend on your DC.
5LittleMonkeys
Thank you - that explanation helps tremendously. It's the BCM that I do need. :)
Mom22ns
Here are links to the 8th edition and the Solutions Manual. You don't need a copy that new and fancy :), but just now, I couldn't find a solutions manual for the 7th edition which is what I used a few years ago..
