4ofus
My son begins the class tonight. He received the reading assignment & I'm assuming he would benefit from the class more if he pre-reads the material. He's been reading it this morning, but also working the problems. Is this what he's supposed to do? Or should he just be reading & preparing to work the problems after the class? Anyone btdt?
wapiti
He should work through the lesson problems and then look through the solutions before class (IMO the learning is through doing moreso than through reading). If he has time, he should also do the exercises. He should continue working through the book on a daily basis as it is not realistic to only do so on the day of class itself - too many lessons for one day. He should also get working in Alcumus. There is a bit of work to juggle, as there is also a weekly problem set due 8 days after the class and it usually includes at least one or more especially challenging problems. I hope he has a fun class tonight!!
4ofus
Thanks for the reply. We finally got smart & opened the classroom. We found lots of information there that answered all of our questions! I'm glad he worked the problems. He had a really busy math day today as we didn't prepare early....but he should have a handle on how to manage his load better now :).
