Dmmetler
SD accelerate has a free 6 months trial for all their classes, including prep for AP exams. DD is enjoying playing with it. I'm liking the biology (which is what she's doing first, naturally) because it actually is making her take notes as she watches the lectures as one of the assignments. I don't know that it would be worth the per-class fee, but I'm guessing she can go through big chunks of it between now and March. http://www.sdaccelerate.com/standard-deviants-accelerate-six-months-free-promo/

EndOfOrdinary
We are jumping on board in November. October is Ds' birthday month and it all gets a bit hectic.
kiwik
I got the six month trial. Ds7 liked the lectures on multiplication but I think you would have to add in worksheets or something.
Dmmetler
I don't think it's complete by any stretch of the imagination-it seems to just be videos and quizzes.
SarahW
Thanks for posting this! When I was signing up on their site I saw the word "supplemental" used a few times. So I don't think they themselves think it's a full curriculum. I signed my kid up for a few things. Some of it is a bit over his head, but he likes videos, and it's far more constructive than youtub'ing Minecraft Steve on rainy days. :001_rolleyes:
Guest ariana2
Evan Moor has a daily language book that teaches mechanics. It isn't Daily Language Review because that assumes the child already knows the material. I am blanking on the name and can't look it up easily on my phone. Daily Language Fundamentals perhaps? Hopefully someone else can chime in with the name.
urthmama
I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this! We signed up last week and my daughter did the Earth Science class (videos/quizzes). She finished the course after a few days and has now moved on to Biology and Chemistry - she really loves it. I know it's not a full curriculum - but it's pretty amazing what she picked up in the Earth Science portion - and more than that - she really loves it and it motivated her to explore books at the library on various topics she'd learned about in the videos. I think if we did subscribe after the 6 months, I would do it on a month to month basis - one course at a time. She seemed pretty "done" with the class after a week (had watched all the videos and read the material) - so for me, buying a full year's access would not be as useful as just going month to month and seeing where the interest leads. Anyhoo- I just wanted to say thanks bc I had been looking for something like this for awhile and kept coming up short. Yay!
