heidip2p
I am just wondering if there is a list of living books to use with MOH volume 1 but broken down by age level?
kolamum
Not sure, but MOH has boards on Pinterest you could check out, maybe you'd find something there. I found someone had made an entire compilation, for instance, of movies {short & long ones} as a youtube channel that had been pinned over there. Another idea might be to check out the WP website as they use MOH Vol. 1-2 & you might get book ideas there, all though I don't know that it would help much with the level aspect. momacacia
All through the Ages??
kirstenhill
OP, if you don't have All Through the Ages, I would also suggest giving it a look, but I will say I was a bit disappointed in its coverage of Ancient History (I found it to be much more useful for American History -- more selections). Other than the book selections MOH 1 itself gives in the appendix, I have had to look through a variety of sources to find books for this year. It is definitely more work as I have to figure out for myself, to some extent, what goes with what and which of my kids should read/listen to which books. In order to make things a bit easier for me in terms of our reading beyond MOH, I am doing a "culture/civilization of the month" which is not perfectly lined up with MOH (since MOH jumps around so much), but will in time give us coverage of all the major civilizations in MOH 1. So, I this first month was supposed to be the earliest civilizations (though I failed to find very many books we were very excited about), October will be Egypt, November will be Ancient China, etc. A couple links here on the boards I found helpful were: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/315098-ancient-reading-list-chapter-books-for-5th-and-7th-grade/ http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/475511-fun-historical-fiction-for-ancients/ I also compiled a few book lists on this Pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/kirstenjoyhill/homeschool-history-geography/ Some of the links on that board are more specific to Mystery of History. Hope that helps a bit, even if it is not exactly what you are looking for!
