mothergooseof4
My 5th and 6th graders have never mastered their facts. I finally signed up for Timez Attack last week, and this is the best money I've spent in a long time. Even my 9th grader plays for fun and has increased his speed. My 5th grade dd LOVES it and plays for fun. My 6th grade ds thinks it's okay and doesn't complain because it's better than flashcards. He enjoys it, just knows it's "school" so he only does whatever limit requirement I set. My 9th grade dd got on after watching the other two and loves to play for fun. Great product!!!! redsquirrel
It is a great product. It moved my then 4th grader from slow with his times tables to fluent and fast on the draw. However, there is a learning curve. My younger boy, then he was 6 or 7? just could not type fast enough. He tried addition attack and it took him time to find the numbers on the number pad and type them it. He just could not go fast enough and it would move on to the next question. There was much sobbing over that. It was super demoralizing and he has since refused to use Timez Attack. So, just a word that if you try it, there is a learning curve, and even though they have addition and subtraction, it might be best for kids who are old enough to type easily or understand that nothing bad happens if it moves on to the next question. But for the right kid, it can be a math miracle!
Erica in OR
I really liked the idea of this too. Used this with my third grader last year, since he needed cementing for his multiplication facts. However, he found it stressful and wasn't eager to do it when it was on his daily list. We had slightly better success with SumDog, which someone also recommended here. Erica in OR
