wapiti
Apparently there will be a website set up for this, at Edreports.org http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2014/08/15/01curriculum.h34.html Funding for the project comes from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—which also was a major financial backer for the development of the common core—the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. Collectively, the three philanthropies have provided about $1 million so far and pledged an additional $2 million. (The Gates and Hewlett foundations also help support Education Week’s news coverage.)
Farrar
Since these are basically the people who created the Common Core, is this like a publisher reviewing its own books? I mean, obviously not quite, but I wonder if the reviews will be stacked in favor of the big companies that also create the tests and basically have become the arbiters of CC. Would a curriculum like Math Mammoth, which we all know is excellent and is also CC aligned, even stand a chance on this review site?
