C_l_e_0..Q_c
Does anyone know of a Conceptual Physics book that is free in electronic format? (free and legal, not free and pirated) I found this one: http://www.lightandmatter.com/cp/ but I don't care much for it. Nothing wrong with it, just that I don't like the prose. Or maybe I'm in a bad mood today. Anyway, I'm looking for alternatives, so I can make a good choice. This would be for a co-op class that I would be teaching. Free is mandatory. chiguirre
Will CK12 work for you? I went to see if they had one and they will create a flexbook for you depending on the grade level and standards you must meet. I got two choices when I entered 9th grade and CCSS (Common Core). I think you can also build your own flexbook from scratch. Here's the generic CK12 link: http://www.ck12.org/teacher/

Emerald Stoker
I think it was Dawn who mentioned the Cassidy book: http://www.dcassidybooks.com/up.html
Lori D.
CK-12 Physics is free. Not sure that it is "conceptual" based, but looks to be a "basic intro" book. The only downside is that in a previous thread, several people mentioned that there are some errors in the answers to the problems; they are being fixed as they are found and brought to the attention of the creators, but that may be an issue for you... Conceptual Physics by Benjamin Crowell is a textbook you can download free. I know nothing about it. And here are are 5 free downloads of Physics texts from The Physics Front -- one is the Crowell text.

C_l_e_0..Q_c
The license does not allow for everyone to use it. It should be limited to the school. Although they're quite easy to find, that's due to the fact the teachers don't know how to secure them. It does not mean it's legal for others to use. I'm being picky on this, because it's for co-op use. I can't tell the parents we're going to use something by not paying for it.

An electronic version is included with the media set (we have one). I'm not sure what the rules for its use are, but that only ran us $15 for a brand new media set when we got it.
