Amira
Ds has a hockey stick he wants to get back to Mexico, but we don't have a bag for it. I know they're allowed by TSA as carry-on luggage, but I can't figure out if our airline allows them. Have you ever tried to carry one on? TechWife
I don't see why they wouldn't allow one to gate check it, but what would you do with it if carried on? It won't fit anywhere. No real clue though. It will fit in the overhead compartment.
Jann in TX
If my friend can carry on his guitar (domestic and international flights) then a hockey stick should be easy! Keep trying to contact your airlines though-- they may have a limit to how many 'odd' items they can store on each flight.
TechWife
Really? I didn't think those compartments were that big. Although are they usually continuous? I never noticed whether or not they were because I'm too short to see well into it. LOL They are not all continuous, but they are pretty long. This varies some based on the type of aircraft as well. Amira
We've carried another Ds's guitar on many international flights, so I'm hoping the hockey stick will work too. :)
Dmmetler
I'm surprised a hockey stick is allowed, given that the little souvenir baseball bats given out at the Louisville Slugger factory tour are considered weapons and have to be put in checked baggage to get through security! Hope it works for him!!
Laura Corin
I thought they had dimension rules for hand luggage - about the size and shape of a small Rollaboard? L
Amira
We were on American and they had us check the stick. It was just the stick- not wrapped and no case or bag, but it made it home to Mexico with no problems. :)
