73349
DS is finishing Foundations B, and I'll do C with him in first grade. But level D does not look like it will be quite right for him for 2nd. Have you switched a child into Essentials after doing some/most of Foundations? What does that look like? Acclerating through certain parts? Skipping? Thanks. lorisuewho
I have one that has finished Foundations A and B, and will start C in August. I have two that did none of Foundations and just did Essentials. I don't think you would have a problem jumping into Essentials in second grade at all. You might fly through the first few lists (or not) or you could substitute her advanced lists for Essentials (found online) that correspond with each regular list in Essentials. For foundations, we are using Logic of English for everything, including spelling, handwriting, reading, phonics, etc. But when I did Essentials with the boys, we were just using it for spelling and phonics. We did a separate reading program.
