Amanda's Mommy
I'm hoping someone can help me. DD has said she wants to do an animal study this year. This is the first time she has shown ANY interest in her schooling. We did Winter Promise Animals and their Worlds in 2nd grade. She wants something like that. Help. helena
Beautiful Feet has an equestrian unit study: http://bfbooks.com/History-of-the-Horse-Pack It says it's for up to 6th, but I think those books look fine for 7th, especially if this is something fun added into her school day. We love BF here!
winoelle
We loved WP Equine Science here. I haven'tseen a full curriculum around animals for middle. In 6th grade we did a long Animal Science unit and I built our literature around it as it was a main interest for dd. You could do something like that. winoelle
For our animal science semester we used these: Science Explorer Animal Science Wildlife Forensic Science Wildlife Detectives Elephant Scientist Wild Horse Scientist (a favorite) Plus a variety of other books from our library, including more scientist in the field books. We found plenty of rabbit trails to follow and really enjoyed the whole unit.
Alte Veste Academy
I agree with winoelle about looking at the many wonderful books from the Scientists in the Field series. Most of them are animal focused. http://www.sciencemeetsadventure.com/series-overview/
