Guest kimbroa Posted July 22, 2014 Share Posted July 22, 2014 My daughter brought home a cocoon a few weeks ago and we noticed last night it has a crack in the head of the hard shell. It has an antenna sticking out too. But it's completely still now wwith just a little part of its head emerging. How long after the cocoon starts to open does it usually take to fully emerge? She has it in a bug catching plastic container. I suggested she put fresh leaves to gelp entice it to keep coming.
