mathmarm
I discovered recently that Jr is using 3 word sentences when he signs to fluent Signers and I am soooo excited and soooo proud that I'm telling everyone. I went to pick him up from his Deaf grandparents house but he was fussy and didn't want to go with me--he's usually so happy and usually very happy to see me! I was in a hurry and tired and I had work to do when I got home, but he clung to his grandpa and when I asked him "Oh, whats the matter with you today?" he said (signed) "want eat apple" (the "I" is understood)! I was so happy!!! Needless to say we stayed and he got his cold apple slices!!!
desertflower
That's great! It's a great feeling when they achieve something. :)
mathmarm
My kid is having a language explosion and I couldn't be happier! When he is with his grandparent he signs constantly. I've been more mindful of signing with him and Jr. is beginning to sign more and more at home now also! I admit that I had my doubts about letting his Deaf grandparents keep him during the day, but so far, its been a 3-way win for everyone involved! My son is using sentences in ASL, he is communicating and is a very easy kid to manage! Huzzah!!!
