Liz CA
I need to replace our Brita. I saw the Mavea in a store, price is about the same but I am wondering how easy it's going to be to find filters.
Desert Strawberry
Listening. Our filter had a nasty run in with a bottle of coconut oil. It didn't turn out well.
Liz CA
Well, I checked out their website and the pitcher is around $29 - 35.00 - depending on where you get it. They list stores that carry the filter and Bed, Bath & Beyond is among them. The filter costs $7.99 for a single and $21.99 for a three pack. Amazon carries everything as well. I may get it. It's supposed to filter better than Brita and be BPA free. http://www.mavea.com/mavea/us-us/cms/elemaris-water-filter.grid
Desert Strawberry
I opted for the faucet mount Brita. I read the reviews, questions and comments and made necessary adjustments. Hopefully it will last. If it doesn't, we will upgrade to something better. I hope you love yours.
Liz CA
Well I bought the mavea. It is supposed to filter out agricultural chemicals which is important here - to what degree it eliminates substances, I don't know but hopefully it's better than nothing. Prairie~Phlox
We have a Mavea, I got filters off Amazon cheaper than bb&b. I have to say, we are on our third filter, first came with the box, seemed to last a while, 2nd one was from Amazon & needed to be replaced very quickly, we'll see how long the third one lasts. You can recycle the filters. There is a $5 rebate on their website.
