blue daisy
I guess I shouldn't really say new, since I've done a lot of reading and other activities with my children since they were little, but I'm newish to this board and I'll be trying to do more "formal" afterschooling with my kids this upcoming year. I've been wanting to homeschool for a few years now, but DH isn't on board yet. So my boys will be continuing at PS for 4th and 1st grade this upcoming year. I have to say that I love our PS, love the staff, and they have always tried to accommodate my boys' needs (both accelerating subjects as needed, and getting special services where needed as well). But I want to implement more elements of a classical education in our home, so I'm going to be adding those things after school and on breaks and I'm hoping to get ideas here. :) Just wanted to say Hi! kiwik
You have a good situation then. If you are happy to leave the basics to the school you can do the fun stuff at home. Welcome.
LLMom
This will be my first fulll year with no homeschoolers. I hope to do some after school stuff, but my kids go to a classical school so get a lot of what i w as nt. We will probably just read more since schools dont have much time for a lot of that.
