quelle.que.soit
Now if only people could understand the difference between bilingualism and 'teaching their children a second language'.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/02/multilingual-benefits_n_5399980.html
Slache
"Spanglish Spoken Aqui" I love that. I need to have that hanging somewhere in my house.
Monica_in_Switzerland
We ate at a roadside restaurant here, and because they get lots of tourists, they had one of those plywood props where you could stand behind it and put your face into a cut-out circle and get your picture taken looking like a stereotypical Swiss farming couple. It still makes me giggle to think of it, as the head part of the plywood prop was only attached by a thin neck, and so it was labeled, "Careful, the mind is fragile!" for the English translation. One of my favorite mistranslations I've noticed since moving here. :-)
quelle.que.soit
Bilingualism is thought to improve cognition and delay dementia in older adults. While prior research has investigated the impact of learning more than one language, ruling out "reverse causality" has proven difficult. The crucial question is whether people improve their cognitive functions through learning new languages or whether those with better baseline cognitive functions are more likely to become bilingual.http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/06/140602101204.htm
